
A low pressure system with a center of 993-995 hPa is located between England and the Low Countries, bringing persistent outbreaks of rain, heavy showers in England and central/central western Europe, while many weather warnings for rain were issued for England and north Wales.


The low pressure system is predicted to bring even 50-70mm locally in England and in the Low Countries which could cause further localized flooding, travel disruption and power cuts. Today, 40 flood warnings and 106 flood alerts were issued for the UK and local flooding from rivers is probable today (Monday) and Tuesday in parts of the Midlands, East and North of England.
Strong winds are predicted also across England, the Low Countries, the English Channel Sea and the Northern Sea with gusts reaching up to 90-100km/h and waves up to 3-4m.

Weather improvement is expected gradually from Wednesday.
