A high pressure system will become stronger over the next few days reaching Scandinavia and northeastern Europe bringing sunny spells for much of Europe and a temperature rise with maximum temperatures 8-10°C above normal.

In more detail, during much of October many countries of Europe especially across southern Europe are experiencing mild weather with temperatures above normal, due to the domination of a high pressure system. As the system becomes stronger during the last days of October it will bring even higher temperatures especially across southeastern Spain, England, central Europe, Italy and the Balkans.

On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures across southeastern Spain and southern France will rise, reaching locally 30-32°C, and 22-23°C in Paris. From Thursday until Sunday temperature rise is also expected across England and central Europe with maximum temperatures reaching 18-19°C in London, 18-21°C in Brussels, 20-23°C in Germany (22-23°C in Colonia, 20-21°C in Berlin). High will be the temperatures also in Scandinavia with maximum values reaching 14-15°C in Copenhagen and 13-14°C in Stockholm, temperatures 5-8°C above normal. Higher than normal will also be the temperatures across Italy especially in Sardinia and Sicily with maximum values reaching locally 28-31°C, while 23-25°C on Friday in northern Italy.

The last days of October will be indeed extremely warmer than usual, but much of Europe over the last few years is experiencing more often heat waves with record temperatures reaching for the month October 29,9°C in Kent, England (1 October 2011) and  28°C in Paris (1 October 2011), 28-29°C during the last years in Madrid.
