Temperature record for January in Europe: 30.7°C in Spain, temperatures 8-10°C above average

A high pressure system is building up in western Europe and will expand over the next few days until some parts of northeastern Europe, bringing a stable weather with sunny spells and temperatures 8-10°C over average in much of Europe; excluding the southeastern part of the Mediterranean countries, where a low pressure system is spreading scattered showers and thunderstorms. The high pressure system is aiming to bring spring spells into the countries, especially the southwestern, until the end of month.

Temperatures are reaching 29-31°C in Spain: already, Spain and Portugal have had temperatures over average in the last few days with maximum temperatures reaching even 29-31°C in southeastern Spain the last 2 days. Specifically, on 25th of January the highest temperature recorded for January was 30.7°C at Gavarda AVAMET (official meteorological net of Valencian Community). Temperatures will continue to be higher than normal over the next week with maximum temperatures reaching 20-22°C in southern France, 13-15°C in Paris, 12-14°C in London, 10-12°C in Germany, 5-7°C in southern Scandinavia, while the minimum temperatures will be around -7°C to -10°C in northern Scandinavia, which is really high for the winter period.
