Europe today has thermally cut it half as a high pressure system is dominating the western Europe and is bringing a temperature rise with maximum values 6-8°C above normal, while a low pressure system above northeastern Europe is bringing a temperature drop with maximum values -4 to -6°C below normal especially across Romania, Ukraine, the Baltic states and western Russia.

The high pressure system will bring today unusual above normal temperatures to Spain and Portugal with maximum values even reaching 32-34°C in the central and southern areas. The warm wave will head eastwards over the week bringing a temperature rise to the European countries of 4-7°C which will be more which will become more noticeable in northeastern Europe. Tomorrow, maximum temperatures in southern will reach 22-25°C across the southern areas, in Germany 21-23°C, while on Thursday in the Baltic states 14-17°C , when today maximum temperatures did not rise more than 10-12°C! As this warm event is proceeding towards the east, the Balkans and Turkey will not feel the warmer temperatures sooner than this weekend. A new temperature drop though will follow as a cold front will pass through central and northern Europe bringing back temperatures close to normal for the season.
