Severe weather across central and southern USA: extreme thunderstorms, big hail, snow and threat for tornadoes

A severe weather system will spread eastwards dangerous thunderstorms which will bring snow, temperature drop and hail across the Northern Plains, upper Midwest and northern Great Lakes, while big hail and tornado threat across the southern states over Friday and Saturday.

Last Friday and weekend the southern states of the USA were torn apart from tornadoes of high strength and unfortunately during the next 2 days states such as Mississippi and Alabama will suffer again from severe thunderstorms which could create big hail and local tornadoes. Over 60 million people are in danger of the new system that will influence more Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana and Wisconsin. On Saturday the system will head further east bringing severe thunderstorms also to the eastern coast and New York. A mix of rain and snow will occur across southeastern Minnesota, Wisconsin and Mischigan with rain accumulations rates reaching 60-80mm and snow accumulation rates at  40-60cm (over the next 3 days).

The storm will be accompanied by strong winds with gusts of 90-110 km while locally they will be higher.
